Quai des Polars 2020: In order to support this event, I’ve managed to read all six of the short listed thrillers in the last ten days and written up three, the other three are half written up and should be posted tomorrow. I wanted to propose my winner before the official announce on the 3rd of April.
There are two satires:
Ah, les braves gens! de Franz Bartelt (Le Seuil).
Le Dernier thriller norvégien de Luc Chomarat (La Manufacture de Livre).
There are three regionals, Nice, Corsica and Grenoble
Après les chiens de Michèle Pedinielli (L’Aube).
Malamorte Antoine Albertini (JC Lattès).
Les Mafieuses de Pascale Dietrich (Liana Levi).
And one Historical
Requiem pour une république de Thomas Cantaloube (Gallimard).
My choice oscillated with reading down to my two finalists
Le Dernier thriller norvégien de Luc Chomarat (La Manufacture de Livre).
Requiem pour une république de Thomas Cantaloube (Gallimard).
And finally, finally despite the difficulty of choosing between such different books, I’ve gone with a satire.
Le Dernier thriller norvégien de Luc Chomarat (La Manufacture de Livre).
